My Background
I started working in education when I graduated from university in 2011. I studied for a course in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and gained my CELTA (Certificate oif English Language Teaching to Adults) at the Randolph School of English in Edinburgh. I moved to Spain with my CV, a suitcase and a dream to teach English and live the Spanish vida for a year!
After this, I returned to Edinburgh, gaining a job as a Teaching Assistant at the prestigious Fettes College before being accepted at Moray House to do my PGDE in Secondary English.
The rest, as they say, is history. I have worked in independent and local authority schools in Scotland since 2012 as both English and Modern Languages and a Guidance Teacher.
I am registered with the GTCS (membership number: 143030), fully PVG checked (membership number: 1207029280640321) and insured through Howdens. I am undertaking Paediatric First Aid training and am always looking for ways to broaden and deepen my knowledge and understanding.
